I was born in Mansfield, Ohio, and raised in the countryside north of the city. As a child, I always gravitated to hobbies that involved creativity, attention to detail, and hand skills. I could often be found performing slight-of-hand magic, playing guitar, and woodworking.

In high school, I loved science and chemistry and decided chemistry would be my major at Miami University. It only took a week of college for me to realize that I needed something artistic to be happy. A friend in my dorm talked about becoming a dentist. That’s when it clicked — a career that entails both art and science! Dentistry became my destiny. I graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 2006.

My favorite thing about dentistry is…

Every patient has a unique set of problems to be solved. I am able to use the skills I have honed since childhood, and the knowledge and training I have obtained through my dental education to make a difference in the lives of our patients. Being a creative person, I also enjoy the variety of procedures and patient needs every day brings. I have been serving the Mount Vernon community since 2008 and I love all the relationships I have built with my patients over the years.

I grew up in Dublin, Ohio.

As a child, the person I admired most was my dad. He was a dentist and I was impressed by the way he served his patients. He took his time to really get to know them and built such wonderful relationships that lasted throughout his career. I saw how his patients trusted him. I wanted to be able to serve people this way too. Lucky for me, I was pretty good at science and art in high school. Two perfect combinations for becoming a dentist!

My favorite thing about dentistry is…

building those lasting, trusting relationships, just like my dad. I also enjoy the technical expertise I’ve developed that allows me the ability to serve our patients with love and care. We see many people who have had negative experiences or are anxious about going to the dentist. To be able to give those patients a positive experience and gain their trust for their future dental care is one of the most rewarding experiences.
